Read Woke Book Lists
In 2021, The Shorewood Public Library invited our community to expand their horizons through a virtual Read Woke Challenge. Read Woke asked readers to challenge social norms by reading books that give voice to the voiceless, expand your knowledge more about people and groups that have been disenfranchised, challenge the status quo, and follow a protagonist from an underrepresented or oppressed group. While the Read Woke program may have formally ended, we invite you to continue reading books that expand your horizons for many years to come and to utilize the following resources on your journey.
