Building Our Village: A Presentation and Short Film Screening

Celebrate Shorewood's 125th Anniversary with us!

Architectural variety is vast and rich -- as is hidden meaning to be found in residential design. 

In this program, trace the growth of the Village of Shorewood as streets were planned and neighborhoods grew with well-designed duplexes, apartment buildings, and homes. Sharpen your skills identifying architectural styles that have contributed to the historic character of our village.

The short film to be screened is titled The American House: A Guide to Architectural Styles. Viewers will learn how to identify the most common styles of American houses, and gain vocabulary enabling them to speak knowledgeably about the styles of houses they see everyday.

This program is co-sponsored by the Shorewood Public Library and the Senior Resource Center, and presented by Shorewood Historical Society President Kathy Kean.
