The Beatles at Shea Stadium
Thursday, January 9
6:30 pm - 8:00 pm
Location: Shorewood Village Center
The Beatles eclipsed all expectations of a concert audience, appearing before 55,600 mostly screaming fans at New York’s Shea Stadium in 1965. Overcoming an overmatched sound system, it was epic, but it almost never happened! When it did happen, it changed rock music forever. This lecture from speaker Terry D. Rindt will discuss the road to Shea, the often overlooked encore 1966 concert, and its enduring legend.
