Meet Lisa! Our New Teen Librarian

Posted Jan 21, 2015

On January 5, Lisa Quintero joined the Shorewood Library staff to serve as the new Young Adult Librarian. Lisa comes to us from Glenview Public Library, where she served most recently as the Preschool Services Coordinator.

In her role as Young Adult Librarian here, Lisa serves Shorewood area teens in grades 6-12 by visiting Shorewood schools, running the Teen Advisory Board, and creating and running excellent programs for this age group. She has a wide range of interests in both books and hobbies, and will be able to draw on her skills as she plans teen programs.

She's already had a chance to introduce herself to the Teen Advisory Board - and many of our regular patrons small and large. I asked Lisa to introduce herself here, virtually, by answering some questions. Here's what she had to say:

What is your favorite book (or books)?

Into the Wild by Jon Krakauer and The Stars My Destination by Alfred Bester.

What is your favorite food?

Anything from the Vegan Treats Bakery in Bethlehem, PA.

What do you like about Milwaukee so far?

Everyone’s very friendly and there are so many co-ops!

What are you looking forward to exploring as you get to know the area?

The Milwaukee independent music scene and the city itself.

One last question: what's a cool thing about yourself that you want patrons to know?

I speak Spanish fluently.
