We’ve all heard someone ask “Does anyone even use the library now that we have internet?” Of course, the answer is a resounding YES. Technology has actually increased library usage and allowed us to expand our services. We offer information and entertainment in more formats than ever before. Thanks to online access, the library is available 24/7 right here at ShorewoodLibrary.org. There might not be a librarian there to answer your midnight question, but our librarian-selected authoritative resources sure are!

This month we've gotten a few new releases that feature old(er) artists - Johnny Cash, Lucinda Williams, and Barry Manilow. What a great opportunity for new fans to find them, and for old fans to remember why they're great.

A couple of weeks ago, most folks in Shorewood received a postcard with details about several of Village of Shorewood organizations, from the School District to the BID, to us. The message was Keep in Touch with Shorewood and recipients are encouraged to contact (Recipients were invited to return the cards to an organization or business to be entered in a drawing.) Last week, many of you received an email with the same message: Keep in Touch with Shorewood.

In February, the Friends of Shorewood Public Library held their first ever media sale. With CDs and DVDs selling at two for a dollar, this sale moved a lot of media for a good cause. Even at that blow-out bargain rate, the sale raised over $1000, helped clear out some of the library’s storage areas and resulted in more support for new library materials and programs.
