Calling all Makers and would-be Makers! By Makers we mean those who invent, build, create, tinker, and all Do-It-Yourselfers who enjoy the satisfaction of hands on experiences as well as all those who might need a little inspiration to wake up their “inner maker”. We have a special day just for you. Saturday March 21 from 11 a.m. – 1 p.m., Shorewood Library invites you to Gadgets, Gizmos and Gunk: A Maker’s Faire. This free and fun event is open to all – from eight year olds to eighty year olds and beyond. Children, seven and younger must be accompanied by an adult.
Enjoy demonstrations and plenty of hands-on activities with Brown Dog Gadgets (www.browndoggadgets.com), Wisconsin Ghostbusters (wisconsinghostbuster.weebly.com), Home Depot and our own maker librarian Lisa. See some of the coolest gadgets ever including a 3-D printer and coloring robot, play with some “out of this world” gizmos, tinker with circuitry, make an LED greeting card, and find out how to turn a banana into a piano. No kidding - you can really play a banana piano.
So whether you are a fledgling inventor, a gadget guru, like to tinker, or just want to know what the Maker Movement is all about, you will find plenty of reasons to “ooh” and “aah” at our Maker Faire. Just drop in between 11 a.m. and 1 p.m. to have fun with Gadgets, Gizmos and Gunk.
