BUILD A BETTER WORLD! Summer Reading 2017
Kids receive a reading folder to keep track of books they are reading or books being read to them. We believe reading is its own reward, but to add a little more motivation, kids who return a complete reading folder to the library between July 5 and August 12 will receive a reward packet of tickets, coupons, and small prizes. Registration begins May 30.
Reading programs are available for kids of all ages - Read-to-Me Tots, Read-to-Me, Readers, and Teens. Click on the links above to learn which program is right for your kids.
We offer a variety of fun free programs for children and families including Terrific Tuesdays, Wednesday Art Cart, Thursday Story times, Lego Club and More. To learn more, click on the link above or visit our online Events Calendar. Please check back often. The calendar will be updated when new programs are scheduled.
More Activities = More Fun
Play our online game. Our library mascot Leo will be visiting some of Shorewood’s most well-known buildings. We will tag along, camera in hand. Check out the pictures each week and submit your answer to “Where’s Leo?” You may win a gift card to a popular Shorewood business in our weekly drawing. The game runs from June 12 – August 12.
Community Lego Build
Stop in the library and add your building talents to our community Lego structure. Watch how it develops over the summer as we “Build a Better World,” or at least a part of it.
Shorewood Monarch Project
Watch metamorphosis in action. We will be raising caterpillars into monarch butterflies throughout the summer. Learn more about Shorewood’s efforts to protect and nurture monarchs at Shorewood Monarch Project and Shorewood Monarch Project on Facebook.
