COMING IN APRIL: LIBRARY TO HOST ADVANCE SCREENING OF INDIE LENS DOCUMENTARY FREE FOR ALL: THE PUBLIC LIBRARY

From Uno to Settlers of Catan, I have played my fair share of Board Games (or Tabletop Games as some like to call it), enough to call myself a board game fanatic. Each game is a unique experience with a wide variety of art and gameplay, and serves as a wonderful way to meet new people and pass the time with an engaging roll of the dice or a flip of the card. That is why I am extremely excited to have started this new program for the library: Shorewood Shuffles, our biweekly game night on Thursdays! Below, I will be discussing some of the many board games we have here at the library, and my experience playing them in preparation for our first Shorewood Shuffles night on January 30th. 
As Earth Day approaches in the spring, the Shorewood Conservation Committee will offer free screenings of several documentaries in the Shorewood Village Center. To complement the environmental themes associated with these films, Shorewood Public Library has gathered a list of related reads to go along with each film. 
We deeply value the enjoyment and enrichment Hoopla has provided our patrons over the past few years. However, due to rising costs associated with the service, we have had to reassess how we offer Hoopla. 
On Saturday, November 16th, the Friends of the Shorewood Public Library hosted their annual Holiday Book Talk with Boswell Book Company proprietor, Daniel Goldin. Daniel shared three dozen of his new favorite fiction, non-fiction, and children’s books. He also shared his insider’s knowledge of authors and the publishing world.
