  • Style & Story: Comic Books to Graphic Novels


    Location: Shorewood Village Center

    Graphic novels play a significant role in Emily St. John Mandel's Station Eleven. In fact, "Station Eleven" is Miranda's graphic novel in the book! Learn about the art of illustration and comic book design with illustrator David Beyer, Jr. David will take a historical look at the medium through genres while highlighting the skills utilized in producing a comic strip or graphic novel.

    David Beyer, Jr. is an illustrator, designer, cartoonist, and editor. He is a graduate of the Milwaukee Institute of Art and Design with a BFA in Illustration and a studio minor in Painting. He has also attended the Joe Kubert School of Cartooning and Graphic Arts as well as the School of Visual Arts in New York City.
