  • How to Survive a Pandemic

    Location: Shorewood Village Center

In Emily St. John Mandel's Station Eleven, a flu-like pandemic wipes out a significant portion of the Earth's population. What if this really happened? Doomsday expert Shel Delisle will explore different apocalyptic scenarios including pandemics, civil unrest, natural disasters, nuclear fallout, electromagnetic pulses, and even a zombie attacks, and guide us on how we can best handle these situations.

Shel Delisle is a retired firefighter and paramedic. She teaches doomsday preparation classes through the continuing education program at UW-Waukesha and helps train paramedics at MATC. Shel is also a volleyball coach for both the boys and girls Kettle Moraine High School teams and is the Chief Optimism Officer for From Our Village, a nonprofit that provides education and support to individuals, schools, churches, & community organizations across the globe.

THIS EVENT IS PART OF OUR SHOREWOOD READS 2018 PROGRAMMING.
